The most viewed photo in the world. #photo #viewed #windows # landscape #billgates #microsoft #XP

The Most Viewed Pic.

This photo was taken by American photographer Charles O'Reilly in January 1998. He was on his way to Napa Valley, north of San Francisco, from his home in St. Helena, California. He intended to meet his girlfriend Daphne, whom he later married.
In those days a storm had passed by and the weather was beautiful and the scenery was beautiful because of the rains. Passing through the Sonoma Highway, Charles saw a green-covered hill and stopped to take a few pictures with his old camera. He had a Mamiya RZ67 camera used by professional photographers. It had the Fuji film Valvia Rail, which was considered the best for taking pictures during the day. Charles later said the picture was good because the combination of camera and film was great. He offered the photo for sale through the photo company Westlight. It was a company like Getty Images that he founded with a friend. Westlight was later bought by Bill Gates' Corbus company. Charles said he was approached by Microsoft in 2000 to buy the image. They offered so much money that Charles lost consciousness. According to him, this was the second largest amount paid for any photo in the world.

He never disclosed the amount because of a privacy agreement with Microsoft. But he is thought to have been paid several million dollars. When he tried to send the film to Microsoft by courier, all the companies apologized, because the picture had become more expensive than their insurance coverage. Eventually, Charles himself went to Microsoft headquarters and signed the deal with the film. He is the default wallpaper for Windows XP. titled the photo Bicolick Green Hills. But Microsoft named it 'Bliss' and made This photo is so fascinating that many people don't consider it real and consider it a feat of Photoshop. At first, some people thought that if it was a real picture, it would have been taken in New Zealand, Ireland, Switzerland, or some other beautiful place in Europe. Many people believe that it must have been edited. According to Charles, the photo was never edited and is presented as it was taken.

Amazing World: Frozen Air Bubbles in Abraham Lake #amazing # #world #frozen #lake #Abraham #Canada

Abraham Lake in Alberta Canada is home to a rare phenomenon that needs to be seen to believe. Trapped under it’s frozen surface, methane gas creeps its way up creating beautiful air bubbles as it freezes and melts and freezes and melts as the flammable element searches for its way out.

The methane is created when plants, and animals in the lake sink to the bottom and react with the bacteria in the water. the bacteria begins to break down the organic matter, decomposing them, slowly releasing the gas. Usually the gas floats its way to the top of the lake where it is released in the air, but when the lake freezes over, methane struggles a little more to find it’s freedom. Amazing world: Pink Lake Hillier in Australia #amazing #world #Australia #pink #park #algae #dunaliella salina

Do you think of what color a lake might be; blue, brown, black maybe even green may come to mind. But I think you would ever associate the pink color with water. The captivating pink lake is not a trick of the light, and it retains it’s hue when removed, but the origin of it’s bubble gum aesthetics remains a mystery the science community is still trying to solve. best guess right now is that it has to do with the high salt levels in the water. Being that Lake Hillier is 10 times saltier than the ocean, it is the perfect breeding ground for the salt loving micro-algae Dunaliella Salina. These tiny little guys produce pigment compounds that absorb light like Beta Carotene which is the same kind of stuff that makes carrots orange and some cabbages purple.

This algae grows in extreme conditions. As its name suggests, it particularly likes saline environments. It is found in lakes, swamps and lagoons with high salt concentrations near the Whyalla region of Australia.

China & India confliction over borders. #China #India #borders #PLA #Ladakh #USA

The most recent clashes between China and India took place earlier this month of May. On May 5, 2020 Indian and Chinese soldiers clashed near the Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh. It is believed that the skirmish took place because the PLA had objected to Indian military patrols in the area.
Most of these clashes apparently stem from differing assessments of the location of the so-called Line of Actual Control—the de facto international border. And then on May 9, 2020 at an altitude of 15,000 feet, in the Naku La region near Tibet, soldiers from both sides came to blows and threw stones at each other mostly in efforts to induce the Indian troops to move back from the areas they were patrolling.
No arms were used but several dozen soldiers were injured, including a senior Indian officer who was required to be airlifted to a hospital. A cross between the soldier in video.

Mahela makes his entrance in Cricket World #Cricket #SriLanka #Mahela #Birthday

Sri Lankan all-time great Mahela Jayawardene was born on this day May 27. A prolific and elegant batsman with a huge appetite for runs, he made his debut at the age of 20, coming to the crease at the unique position of 790 for 4, when Sri Lanka milked India for 952 for 6 in Colombo in 1997-98
He made his first eight centuries at home, and in 2006 became the second Sri Lankan after Sanath Jayasuriya to score a triple-century - in an epic third-wicket partnership of 624 with Kumar Sangakkara, the highest for any wicket in Tests. As a captain, he led Sri Lanka to Test wins in England and New Zealand, and to the World Cup final in 2007.
In the 2011 World Cup, he became the sixth batsman to score a hundred in the final but the first to do so in a losing cause. He became the first Sri Lankan to score 10,000 Test runs, during the tour of South Africa in 2011-12, at the end of which he was reappointed captain.
Jayawardene led Sri Lanka to the final of the 2012 World T20, where they were upstaged by West Indies. Things turned around two years later, when Sri Lanka took the 2014 World T20 title, and Jayawardene retired from the format on a high. He called it a day in all international cricket after the 2015 World Cup.
